Bets settle almost instantly! Once your transaction is confirmed on the Base blockchain (typically 1-3 seconds), the random number is generated, the outcome is determined, and if you win, your payout is sent immediately. The entire process usually takes less than 5 seconds.

Can I cancel a bet after placing it?

No, once a bet transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it cannot be cancelled. This is by design to ensure fairness - the outcome is determined immediately upon confirmation, so cancellation would compromise the integrity of the system.

What happens if my transaction fails?

If your transaction fails (due to insufficient gas, network issues, etc.), your bet is not placed and your funds are not deducted. You may still pay a small gas fee to the network. If you experience issues, ensure you have enough ETH for gas fees and try again.

What is the tier system?

The Riviera Tier System is a loyalty program that rewards players based on their total wagered amount. As you play and wager more, you automatically progress through 10 distinct tiers (Bronze → Silver → Gold → Ruby → Sapphire → Emerald → Amethyst → Pearl → Obsidian → Diamond), each offering increasingly valuable benefits and perks.

How do I progress through tiers?

Tier progression is automatic and based solely on your lifetime total wagered amount across all games. Every bet you place counts toward your tier progress, regardless of whether you win or lose. Your progress is tracked on-chain and is completely transparent.

No, you cannot lose your tier! Once you reach a tier, it's yours forever. Your tier is based on lifetime total wagered, which only increases. You'll never be demoted, even if you take a break.

What is Cash Out and how does it work?

Cash Out allows you to settle your bet early, before the event has concluded. This feature lets you lock in a profit or minimize losses based on how the event is going.

Cash out is not always available - it depends on the event, timing, and market conditions. The cash out button will only appear on active bets when this option is available.

What currency is used for sports betting?

Sports bets on Riviera are placed using WETH (Wrapped ETH), unlike casino games which use regular ETH. Don't worry if you only have ETH in your wallet - we automatically wrap it to WETH for you when you place a bet. Winnings are paid out in WETH, which you can easily unwrap back to ETH anytime using the Convert feature in your wallet. This wrapping/unwrapping is a simple 1:1 conversion with no fees beyond gas.

Riviera acts as an interface to the Azuro Protocol. We are not responsible for the outcomes of sporting events, the accuracy of odds, or disputes related to bet settlement. All sports betting is powered by Azuro's decentralized infrastructure, and outcomes are determined by their oracle network based on real-world event results. What does "provably fair" mean?

Provably fair means you can cryptographically verify that every game outcome is random and not manipulated. Unlike traditional online casinos where you must trust the house, our system uses blockchain technology and Pyth Network's verifiable randomness to ensure complete transparency and fairness.

How does your randomness work?

We use Pyth Network's Entropy service for generating random numbers. Here's how it works:

1. You place a bet and it's recorded on the blockchain
2. Our VRF (Verifiable Random Function) service requests a random number from Pyth
3. Pyth generates the random number using secure cryptographic methods
4. The number is verified and used to determine the outcome
5. All data is recorded on-chain for verification

Yes! Every bet is recorded on the blockchain. You can view your bet history and verify each game's random number, outcome, and payout by checking the transaction on a blockchain explorer like BaseScan. The complete transparency of blockchain ensures no one can cheat the system - not even us.

How do I know you won't manipulate results?

We literally can't! The randomness is generated by Pyth Network, not by us. The smart contracts are deployed on the blockchain and their code is publicly verifiable. We have no ability to influence outcomes - everything is deterministic and transparent on-chain.

Is Riviera available in my country?

Since we're decentralized and operate on blockchain, we don't enforce geographic restrictions. However, it's your responsibility to ensure that using our platform complies with your local laws and regulations. We do not offer services to anyone under 18 years of age.
